The Academy hosted a “Cupcake Challenge,” with 14 teams competing.  Their designs will be judged by those who attend tonight’s rescheduled (post-) Halloween dance, on the eve of two days of student-family-teacher conferences.  Kudos to all participants, and special thanks to Ms. Powers, organizer extraordinaire!

Our Boys Varsity Soccer team was awarded the RVAL Sportsmanship Award for the Fall 2016 season. After every game, coaches rate their opponents’ sportsmanship, and this year’s boys have proven to be a respectful, courteous, competitive, fun-loving group. Congratulations to Coach Kyle Spooner and the team!

As the first snow of the season blanketed much of western Massachusetts on October 27, including our campus, a group of 8th grade students took the opportunity to make the first snowperson of the season. Academy joy and humor personified!

Having harvested pumpkins from the upper field earlier in the month, and with the first snow of the season covering the ground outside, students engaged in our annual carving ritual on Friday, October 28. The jack-o-lanterns decorated the Common Room.

On Thursday October 27 we celebrated highlights from the season and the athletes who competed on our Soccer and Cross Country teams this fall, as well as the Hiking Club and “YogaAerobics” athletes.  Thanks to Leni S-F for compiling this slideshow.

The Girls’ JV Soccer team won on Tuesday against The Center School by an impressive 11-0 score.  The players were in positions to which they weren’t all accustomed but they played amazingly, working on back passes and crosses at goal.
