Alumni Council Update:
Over the past year, a small group of alumni have been working to develop a new alumni association, the Academy Alumni Council.
What is the Alumni Council?
We started the Alumni Council because we felt it was time for alums to take charge of alumni engagement.  The goal is to foster community among alums and build more connections between our alumni/ae and the school. Over the coming months, we hope to discuss these opportunities with you.
How to Get More Involved
Want to get involved in the Alumni Council (or even host an event in your area)?  Send an email message to Abel McDonnell ’03 at or Carol Foote, Director of Development, at  We’d love to hear your ideas and understand the ways you’d like to get involved.

35th Anniversary Reunion Recap:

We were delighted to have more than 70 alumni/ae and their guests join IMG_20160528_121754us for the 35th Anniversary Reunion at The Academy. Reunion attendees took advantage of cooking Spanish lunch with Señora Grant, talking with Academy students, jamming in Ellington, roaming our halls, hearing the a Capella group, seeing former teachers, and genuinely enjoying each other.  Thank you to everyone who made this weekend memorable!

Building on the energIMG_20160528_111914y felt at the event, watch for news of a budding Academy Alumni Council as announced at Reunion dinner by Abel McDonnell ’03. At the same time, we look to share more of what our alums are doing with our student body. We have F blocks dedicated to special programs that sometimes feature the work of our alumni, and host a program called Lunch with An Alum in which you can visit in person or by Skype. You are encouraged to share your expertise and life stories so that we may share                                                                              them with our students.

In honor of this anniversary year, please consider giving a gift that is meaningful to you. Every gift of every size matters and is appreciated. Thank you.
