2026 Summer Programs

July 6-10, 2026

Hiking, Art, and STEM

Participants will tap into The Academy’s artistic, outdoor, and academic communities and explore different areas of interest. Students engage in 2-3 different blocks each day that involve hiking, visual art activities, and STEM activities. Morning hikes include local favorites like Mohawk State Forest and the High Ledges. Participants return to campus to work on beautiful mosaics, before an afternoon of investigating engineering and technology concepts through such activities as the creation of Rube Goldberg machines.
Ages: 8-11 as of 7/1/2026
Duration: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday, July 6th – Friday, July 10th

Annual Special Events

Open House

After exploring our website, attending an Open House is the best way to get a sense of The Academy and the kind of students we nurture. At Open Houses, current students guide visitors through the school, and teachers are available to answer questions.

Cornucopia Auction

The Cornucopia Auction in November celebrates the valley’s bounty with an offering of fine locally made art and crafts, artisan farm products, services, memberships, vacation getaways, and more. Locally inspired and produced food and beverages are served.

Grandparents and Friends Day

A day when grandparents and special friends are invited to campus to spend the day with their students in an open-house format.

Alumni Anniversary Celebrations

Periodic reunions for alumni, faculty and families are held on campus. If your class is interested in organizing reunion activities please contact the development office.

Commencement

On a Saturday in early June, the Academy community gathers to honor the seniors as they begin a new chapter, and to celebrate the spirit and hard work that sustains us through each year.
