Creativity abounds at The Academy, and is expressed in the many Studio Block elective arts classes where students take advantage of the opportunity to work alongside accomplished artists. Here, they’re engaged in Audio Collage, Chess, Introduction to Oil Painting, Beginning Ceramics, and Frame Loom Weaving.

Mr. Miller’s Environmental Science students have been discussing the local food movement. They harvested a crop of potatoes from our garden, planted by last year’s class, to be used in our kitchen as a way to reduce our school’s carbon footprint and encourage awareness of the benefits of eating locally grown food.

Keeping with tradition, on our first Friday of the school year, students completed the process of choosing team name themes for the year, in a town meeting format.
