In honor of Black History Month and in recognition of the contributions of Black and African Americans to our democratic society, we will be reading excerpts from some of their writings during our daily Morning Meetings throughout February.
2/2: Today’s reading was an excerpt from the commencement address given by Lucy Stanton at Oberlin College in 1850, expressing a call to all people, and especially to women, to work for the abolition of slavery. For the full text of the address, click here.
2/3: “His Story” by Gil Scott Heron
