Community Service Day

Community Service 2018 25The Academy at Charlemont will hold its annual Community Service Day on Friday, May 3. Students, faculty and staff members will spend the entire day working in area towns, to honor the spirit and vision of the school’s founders.

Groups will be pulling invasive plants with the Trustees of Reservations at Bear Swamp in Ashfield. Teams will be working in Shelburne Falls on the Bridge of Flowers  and in Memorial Hall, and doing spring yard work for clients of the Senior Center. They’ll be in Greenfield, working at the the Green River Recreation Area and Just Roots Farm, and in Hatfield at Prospect Meadow Farm.

The Academy at Charlemont was founded in 1981 as a public spirited private day school, with an emphasis on community service.
