International Students & Home Stay
Every year the Academy welcomes a number of international students to campus for a year of study. Since the Academy is a day school, international students stay with Academy families in an arrangement known as a home stay. Students are integrated into their host families’ home life and participate fully in the life of the school. In recent years, Academy families have generously opened their homes to students from many countries, including Spain, Mexico, France, Ghana, Germany, Brazil, China, Korea and Slovakia.
The Academy accepts most of our international students through PAX (Partnership for Academic Exchange), an organization that facilitates high school exchange programs around the world. PAX provides support and guidance for visiting students, host families, and the school.
In addition to our work with PAX, we offer a two-month exchange program with students from Erding, Germany. Host students may in turn visit Germany during the summer.
The Academy has for many years offered a week-long visit to Merida, Mexico during spring vacation for Academy Spanish language students. In return, students from our Mexican host school stay with families here for a week in the spring.
Most international students come to us through these programs, although there are limited opportunities for other arrangements. Please contact the Admissions Office for more information, including admission requirements, tuition costs and availability of financial aid.
