Open House
After exploring our website, attending an Open House is the best way to get a sense of The Academy and the kind of students we nurture. At Open Houses, current students guide visitors through the school, and teachers are available to answer questions. Academy students love their school and are adept at putting visitors at ease, whether they be fifth graders considering middle school, ninth graders considering high school, seniors exploring a post-graduate year, or parents checking out the school without their children. If you have questions about student life, academics, athletics, music and the arts, the application process, financial aid, transportation, college placement, or the role of parents in the Academy community, you will find answers in lively conversation with Academy students, staff and parents.
Open Houses are in October and January. Families who are considering applying for the following September should try to attend the October Open House. This allows ample time to complete the application before the February 15th deadline. The January Open House is a good time for families who are considering the school for future years, but is not too late for families who have just discovered The Academy and are interested in applying for coming year.
Meet students, faculty, and discover for yourself if the Academy is the school for you. Please don't hesitate to arrange a visit even if you are coming to the Open House, or if you have questions, please call Director of Admissions Sandy Warren at (413) 339-4912.
Additionally, this is the time of year when we sometimes hear from a family whose child has had a miserable beginning at another school. You may know of such a family. In fact, some very successful Academy students came to us after the semester had started. It's particularly gratifying to see the difference a school like this can make in a child's life, but it's important to make the move as soon as possible. Please encourage any parent in this situation to give a call. We don't have space in every class, but may be able to accommodate qualified applicants in a couple of grades.
